Some illnesses are short lived and the medicine taken is minimal or avoided, other's need to be treated with the dreaded, yucky tasting antibiotics and children's Tylenol or Motrin. Antibiotics for children are typically taken not just for 1 day but 7 to 10 days, twice a day and if not taken in its entirety, the infection will come back, and so does the medicine!
One of the biggest challenges in my field is having children take necessary medications. It's a frustration for both parents and pediatricians. It is not uncommon for me to hear, a day after I write a prescription, "I know he needs it, he just won't take it. I don't know how to give him the medicine". The MediMixer is going to revolutionize how parents give medication to their children. Not only is it a really cool product that kids are going to beg to use, but in many cases, it's going to prevent infections or other diseases from progressing to a more serious illness. I'm thrilled to recommend it to every parent in my practice.Jason Bromberg, MD, FAAP Pediatrician
